Soraya + Greg Porter's Voice - Greg Porter's Drummer
The Soraya Arts Center is beautiful & the venue's management of COVID requirements was the best & most efficient I've encountered. Gregory Porter's baritone voice is magnificent in service to the Jazz genre - HOWEVER, the drummer he used on this performance was awful in his roll, as timekeeper to the group! Unnecessary flourishes at the wrong time, while losing the tempo of the song, occurred repeatedly. It was an annoyance in an otherwise awesome display of Porter's talent! Note: Since a Jazz audience skews older, consideration of a short intermission is warranted in a concert as long as Greg Porter's was -with multiple encores.
